Picture #1 is a picture of Peter Mohler. The picture was taken at the same time as those of Rueann Lanphear and Surmantha Bennet. The photo is a Carte De Viste type picture - very light brown paper posted on cardboard with gold trim. It is believed that this photo was taken about 1870. Peter was about age 33, which seems to fit. Photo was in the possession of John Mohler.

Picture #2 of Rueann Lanphear, was taken at the same time as that of Peter Mohler above (about 1870). The original photo is a tin type, placed in a holder by the maker which was lined with stars. This holder was common during the civil war days and continued thereafter. The original is in the possession of Helen Fromi, descendant of Peter and Rueann. Rueann would be about age 23. A picture of Surmantha Bennet, Mother of Rueann was also taken at the same time as that of Peter and Rueann above. Surmantha was residing with Peter and Rueann in the 1870 census. Jason Lanphear, husband of Surmantha Bennet died in 1867, and Surmantha died in 1876.

Picture #3 is a picture of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear taken about 1895. The back of the picture is written "Taken by McAdam, Ottumwa, Iowa, Peter Mohler & Rueann Landphear Mohler about year 1895". Picture from Helen Fromi, descendant of Peter and Rueann.

Picture #4 is from a tin type found in the bible of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. It is believed that it may be a photo of Peter and Rueann, but there are some physical differences that cast doubt as to the actual identity of the photos participants. Could this be a photo of a close relative of Peter or Rueann?

Picture #5 is a picture of Jesse Alvin Mohler and Katie Mable Mohler, children of Peter and Rueann Mohler. The photo is from a 4" x 6" Cabinet Card marked with "McAdam, 228 E. Main Sts., Ottumwa, Ia.". This photo was taken about 1895, probably at the same time as the photo of Peter and Rueann above.

Picture #6 is a picture of the bible belonging to Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. Peter Mohler gave the bible to Rueann as a gift. The cover of the bible is engraven as follows "PRESENTED TO Mrs. Rueann Mohler, By Peter Mohler". The bible is in the possession of John Mohler, descendant Jesse Alvin Mohler.

Picture #7 is a picture of Noah Mohler, Son of Peter Mohler and Delilah Jane Howdyshell. Peter and Delilah were never married. The picture is from a small tin type in the possession of Myrle Carpenter of New Straitsville, Ohio. The picture was probably taken about 1878, when Noah was about age 20.

Picture #8 is a photo of Jason Lanphear (left) and Andrew Jackson Mohler (Right). Both were children of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. The photo was taken about 1870. The original was from a tin type found in the bible of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. Photos of Peter Mohler, Rueann Lanphear, and Surmantha Bennet were also taken at the same time.

Picture #9 is from a Carte De Viste photo. It is a picture of Jason Lanphear Mohler. The back of the Carte De Viste had the following writing "Jason, age 19 years" and "Fairfield, Iowa". The picture would have been taken in 1884.

Picture #10 is a picture of Katie Mable Mohler, daughter of Peter Mohler and Reuann Lanphear, taken from a Post Card type photo. The picture is in the possession of Helen Fromi. The photo was taken sometime before the death of Katie in 1915.

Picture #11 is a picture of Etta Rueann Mohler, daughter of Peter Mohler and Reuann Lanphear. The photo is labeled "Etta Byers, Christmas 1948". Etta would have been age 69 at the time the photo was taken. Her husband, William Lewis Byers had passed away in 1944.

Picture #12 is a picture of Jesse Alvin Mohler, Son of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. The picture was probably taken sometime between 1903 and 1913. The picture is in the possession of John Mohler, descendant of Jesse Alvin Mohler.

Picture #13 is a picture of Ellis Howard Davis and Sarah Bernice Mohler, daughter of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. The pictures are from small 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" photos pasted on small 2" by 2 1/2" cardboard backings.

Picture #14 is a picture of Jason Lanphear Mohler, Son of Peter Mohler and Reuann Lanphear, and of his fourth wife Elizabeth Mary Allison. Jason and Mary were married in 1919. The photo was probably taken sometime between 1920 and 1925. The back had "919 S. Broadway, L.A.".

Picture #15 is a picture of Sarah, Etta, and Mable Mohler, daughters of Peter Mohler and Reuann Lanphear. The back of the photo was labeled "Sarah, Etta, & Mable Mohler" Photo is in the possession of Helen Fromi, descendant of Peter Mohler. The picture was probably taken about 1905.

Picture #16 is a photo of Andrew Jackson Mohler and Elizabeth Ann Stiles. The photo was taken in 1885, probably at their wedding or shortly before or after. Andrew was age 22 and Elizabeth, age 19. The wedding took place at the home of Elizabeth's Mother, Sarah Jane Lewis Stiles, in Fairfield, Jefferson, Iowa. A copy of the photo came from a negative in the possession of Carol Mohler Gifford. The original may have been a cabinet card.

Picture #17 & Picture #18 are photos of the cemetery stones of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear Mohler. Peter and Rueann are buried at Westview Cemetery in Kirkville, Wapello, Iowa. The photos were taken in 1996. There is one stone for both Peter and Rueann, with the inscriptions on opposite sides.

Picture #19 is a picture of the family of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. This picture is from a tin type owned by Helen M. Fromi. It was taken about 1881, when Etta was about age two. Back Row, left to right, is Andrew Jackson Mohler (1863), and Jason Lanphear Mohler (1864). Front row, left to right, is unknown (perhaps Peter's Brother Jacob Mohler), Etta Rueann Mohler (1879) (on lap), Peter Mohler (1837), Reuann Lanphear (1847), and Sarah Bernice Moher (1874). It was claimed that the unknown man was the family Doctor who insisted on being in the picture. This photo was sent by Jim Fromi, Son of Helen Fromi.

Picture #20 is a photocopy of the family records of Peter Mohler and Rueann Lanphear. These pages were in the possession of the descendants of Jesse Mohler, Son of Peter Mohler and Reuann Lanphear. They give the birth dates of all the children of peter Mohler and Reuann Lanphear.
