Brace of Knox County, Ill., one aged 15 and the other 12, were drowned on the 9th inst, in attempting to cross Spoon river on a raft. They pushed out until their poles were too short to reach bottom, when they were taken by the current and in leaving the raft and attempting to swim to shore they were drowned".
