Came to Boston with Wife and 2 Sons Thomas & Abraham on ship "James".  Arrived Dorchester 17 Aug 1635.
Became freeman 14 Mar 1638/39.
Thomas Dickerman was a Tailor.


196. George Merriman

Will of George Merriman of London, written in 1655, executed 31 Oct 1655 and probated 19 May 1656.  Leaves 10 pounds to Son Nathaniel, now resident in New England.  Also to Daughter Elizabeth Norman, married to John Norman, and to Son John, the residue of the estate.  No wife is mentioned.
George Merriman was a Cooper.


204. Nathaniel Dickinson

Hampshire Probate Records - Will of Nathaniel Dickinson, Vol 1, pg 187, 181, 180, dated 29 May 1676 - Sons Nehemiah, Daughter in law - Dorcus, widow of Azariah, daughter Francis Dickinson & Hannah Clary, Son Thomas, Son Samuel, Son Obadiah, and Son William Gull.
To Hadley, Mass in 1659.
Three Sons - John, Joseph & Azariah were killed in King Phillips War in 1675 and 1676.
Emmigrated 1636-1638.


206. Nathaniel Foote

Nathaniel was an apprentice on 21 September 1608 to Samuel Croyle of Colchester, a Grocer and 'Free Burgess', for a period of 8 years until his 24th birthday.
Removed to America from London sometime before 1633.
First settled in Watertown, Massachusetts - took freeman's oath 3 Sept 1633.
Probate of Nathaniel - Inventory taken 20 Nov 1644, naming Nathaniel Foot, about 24 years;  Robert Foot, about 17 years;  Frances Foote, about 15 years;  Sarah Foote, about 12 years, Rebecca Foote, about 10 years, and widow.
Will of Elizabeth Deming Foot Welles, dated 28 Mar 1678.  Inventory dated 3 Sep 1683, memorial dated 16 Aug 1682.  Children given as daughter Sarah Judson, daughter Churchill, daughter Goodrich, daughter Barnard, daughter Smith, Son Nathaniel, Son Robert's children - Daniel, Elizabeth.  Grandson John Studder, Joseph & Benjamin Churchill, Henry Buck, Nathanie Foote (son of Nathaniel), Brother John Deming Sr.


212. John Lathrop

Clergyman in England.
Settled Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.
Proponent of the idea of the separation of church and State.
Attended Queen's College, Cambridge, & Matriculated 1601, graduated with a BA in 1605 and with an MA in 1609.
Appointed Curate of the local parish of Egerton, Kent, England.
1624 was called to replace Henry Jacob as pastor of the First Independent Church in London.
Jailed in the Clink or Newgate Prison for failure to take the oath of loyalty to the established church 1632-May 1634.
While in Prison, his wife Hannah House became ill and died.  HIs 6 children were left to fend for themselves for bread begging on the streets of London.
Released from prison in May 1634 on condition that he would remove immediately to the new world.
Sailed on the ship "Griffin" to Boston, arriving 18 Sep 1834.  Located to Scituate within a few days of arriving in Boston.
From Scituate to Barnstable 11 Oct 1639.


214. John Scudder

Elizabeth came to America with children Elizabeth Scudder, Samuel & Joanna Chamberlain.  Her Son John Scudder had already come to America.

228. John Barber

John Barber was an apprentice to Francis Stiles - 18 Dec 1634.  Records of the worshipful Company of Carpenters at the Guildhall, in the minutes of a meeting held on 18 Dec 1634 - "Received of Francis Stiles for Apprenticary Thomas Barber, Son of John Barber of Stamford in the County of Lincoln, yeoman, deceased, from St. Thomas' day next for 9 years, 25 shillings pence"


232. Sabbath Clark

Sabbath Clark - educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University (1608-1611), BA degree.
Ordained Deacon of Newnham Courtney Parish Church 7 Jun 1612 thru 1615, then to Tervin.
Approined Vicar of Tarvin Chapel in 1621 and servied thru 1662.  Ejected from the church of England for refusing to sign an oath of conformity to the standard anglican Church service.
Elizabeth Overton may have been born in Bedworth.


234. Thomas Newberry

Ship "Recovery".  Admitted 3 Sep 1634 to Church at Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Will, wife Jan Newberry.  Inventory 28 Jan 1636.
Thomas Newberry granted land to Joseph, Benjamin, John, Sarah, Mary, Rebeccah, & Hannah, Vol 1, pg 2-8, 10 Oct 1640.
Estate of John Newberry, distributed to his sibblings.


238. Benjamin Burr

Benjamin Burr was an original settler of Hartford 1635;  admitted freeman 1658.
Soldier in Pequot War.
Will dated 2 Jan 1677 - Benjamin Burr of Hartford - Wife Anna, Son Samuel, Son Thomas, daughter Hannah, daughter Mary Crow, granddaughter Mary Crow.
