4. Joseph Lewis

Joseph Lewis in war of 1812.
Zipporah came to Ohio in about 1820 according to Biography of her Son Samuel.
Parent of 7 Sons and 3 daughters - according to biography of Rachel Barrett.


2. Samuel Lewis

History of Erie County, New York - 1879, by Hudson Tuttle.  To Huron county in 1816, married Elizabeth Hine, died 1851, age 55, wife married Oliver Peak.  6 Children - Lyman, Charles, Baldwin, Luther, Clarinda, Mary (Mrs. Raws).  Lost 4.
Servied War of 1812, and was a prisioner at Halifax prison until the end of the war.
Wilbert Luther and Charles were soldiers in the Iowa Infantry - E-32.  Both killed int he war.
The Sons of Samuel moved to Iowa in 1855.

1840 Census - Vermillion Twp., Huron, Ohio.

1855 Census Ripley, Chautauqua, New York - Wilbert's birthplace as Ontario Co., NY.


6. Thomas ? Davison

Bible records of Ephraim T. Lewis & Hannah Davison - Death of Elizabeth Philips recorded.
Millington Newark Cemetery, Millington, Kendall, Illinois - Cemetery stone of Elizabeth Phillips (matches to death date from bible).
1820 Census - Venango, Erie, Pa - "Tyler Lewis", residing nextdoor to Jane Davison, and nearby to Francis Davison.  In the household is Tyler, age 16-26, Hannah, age 16-26, a female age 10-16, and 3 females under age 10.  One of the females under age 10 would be their daughter Mary born in 1819.  Thetr are 3 females in the household that are not children of Ephraim and Hannah.  They might be Hannah's Sisters - Martha Ann born in 1812, and Elizabeth born in 1810, and perhaps another sister.
1830 Census - Venango, Erie, Pa - "Tyler Lewis" - family matches exactly except there is one additional female age 15-20 (born 1810 - 1815).
1830 Census - Venango, Erie, Pa - "Tyler Lewis", "Henry J. Brace", & "John C. Phillips".
Erie County, Penn Land Records - H-70, Richard Noakes Jr. to Wilson Tuesdale, dated 13 Jul 1835, $280.00, 100 acres.  "Bounded on the East by the residue of the tract on the South by land of George Davidson on the West by land belonging to the heirs of Thomas Davidson Sen. on the North by land of Robert Smith this being the Same one hundred acres of land which was granted by Thos. Davidson Sen. to Thomas Davidson Jun. the said Thomas Davidson Sen. reserving to the use of the Widow Jane Davidson eight acres off the North West Corner of the tract aforesdaid during her natural life and the said John C. Philips and Henry J. Brace & their wives also heirs reserved to the Widow Jane Davidson the use and occupancy of the said eight acres for and during her natural life. . ."
Erie County, Penn Land Records - G-279, John C. Philips & Betsey his wife & Henry J. Brace and Martha Ann his wife to Richard Noakes, dated 12 April 1835, $240.00, 100 acres.  "South by land of George Davidsons on the West by lands belonging to the heirs of Thos. Davidson Jr on the North by land of Robert Smith this being the same one hundred acres of lands which was granted by Thos. Davidson Sr. Thos Davidson Jr. , the said Thos. Davidson so reserving to the use of his wifow Jane Davidson eight acres off the north west corner of said tract during her natural life. . . "
