16. Lawrence Ellison

Thomas Ellison, Son, testified in suit 20 Mar 1696/7 between Adam Mott & Richard Ellison.  Thomas Stated that his father was Lawrence Ellison who had Richard, Thomas (deponent), and John.
Lawrence was of Windsor Conn, then to Hempstead by 1657.
The History oft he Alison or Allison Family by L A Morrison, Lawrence was a Puritan, and came from Watertown, Mass, to Weathersfield, Conn, then removed from there to Stemford, thence to Hempstead, L.I. in 1644.
Most of the early families of Hempstead were under the leadership of Richard Denton, and came from Hemel, Hempstead, England.  Some came from Halifax, York, England.  These emmigrants are supposed to have been a part of the colony which came across seas with Robert Winthrop and Sir Richard Saltonstall in 1630.

18. Thomas Champion

12 Mar 1634/5, Thomas Champion of Ashford presented a certificate of conformity from Edward Hayes, vicar of Ashford, in order to board the Hercules of Sandwich for passage to New England.
Moved from Stamford to Hempstead, Long Island abt 1663.
Sailed 12 Mar 1634/5 to New England on Ship "Hercules" of Sandwich - Thomas Champion of Ashford.
27 May 1659 Thomas Champion received land from his Son-in-law Thomas Ellison.
16 Jan 1672 Hempstead Town granted him additional lands adjacent to Frances Jacocks.


30. Christopher Almy

Came with his parents on Ship "Abigail" from London, age 3.
Will dated 4 Sep 1708, codicil dated 17 Sep 1711.  Proved 9 Feb 1712/13 at Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island
Freeman at Portsmouth 1658.  By 1667 purchased land at Monmouth County, NJ. and lived several years and then returned to Rhode Island before 1680.
1680 bought land in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
